Bongo Fury

So since the TV has been fitted I've done both batteries twice now, either leaving stuff on accidentally or by using it too much and running the starter batt down as well.

Any recommendations on what gauges/monitor I could use in the back?

I have a blue LED one that lights up but it might be a bit annoying constantly on.
I could do a switch, but I thought I'd ask around on here first as to what you have fitted?

Not what you've asked for, but I would fully recommend getting round your problem with a solar panel!

Have you got a split charging system .. ??

Maybe get your lecky system properly sorted / working right ..

The leisure battery should be for the 'consumer' side ..

The starter battery should be just for starting .. and independent .. of any lecky guzzling 'gadgets' ..

I fitted a volt meter with a switch in the back of my BMW clock

I did wonder about moving it to my proto type roof console

Thats what I thought but it may be that the starter was down anyway - bit inconclusive...

I have a Cyrix-CT installed maybe I've wired it wrong as it has a start assist function, and its feeding the wrong way somehow.

Or maybe I'd flattened it some other way

Winchman, that blue one is what I have - I need to be able to turn it on and off to check so switch is possible solution.

Somewhere near the TV in the rear conversion would be my thinking...



That way I won't get carried away, and need a jump start!
Solar is the future though for sure.

Get your electrics sorted
You should not be able to flatten your starter battery
You will know when your leisure battery is getting flat when watching TV I loose the sound from tv

I bought a twin gauge following a recommendation from someone on the forum. Can't locate the eBay link currently but it came from South Africa for around £13.

Thanks dobby, I couldn't find your link anywhere . Cheers for the recommendation. I've not fitted it yet, but it's on the 'to do' list.

No problem, fitted mine a while ago, works well I fed the wires through the unused air sensor slots to the right of the glove box.

And bought the push button for the LED one I had already - we'll see which is better.

Think I sussed out the battery issues, the original converter had run power to the rear direct to starter battery, and I'd used that instead of the power I ran looped off the leisure battery.

Then promptly killed both by watching TV
