mystery rattle?

Bongy back from garage after fitting new exhaust, and recon diesel pump. Has acquired a rattle that rises with revs, but only happens under load, ie in drive, but not in neutral, and strangely, not if in reverse. Sounds like something 'spinning', but so far unable to find it, even after much head scratching....
All suggestions very welcome!
Thanks
Derek

Take it back
What's it run like with a recon pump
Why did you need one
Would like to ask how much , where did you get it done, did they do a good job
But not allowed to
What a lot of lost info for the other people

Runs great, surprisingly quick, instant starting from cold, runs SWEET, apart from aforementioned rattle. Doesn't sound like crank pulley (been there done that, T shirt etc). Needed new one cause my guys thought old one was shot internally, leaking fuel badly. Had been through 2 previously from breakers, and had had enough faffing around. £320 exchange from George at Bongo Spares, fully reconned, plus fitting/set up 3hrs labour at my garage. My guys are taking it straight back in, no question: good little garage, Bongo savvy, RW Engineering, Plumpton Sx, done lots of work for me, very genuine and highly recommended, as is George at Bongospares.

Hi Derek
MMmmmmm....you're tempting me to bung a new pump on just in case...It's the one thing that makes me think a bit of preemptive maintenance might pay dividends!
Good luck with the rattle!
Cheers
Helen

Could it be a loose baffle in the exhaust? Is it possible to determine which side of the van the noise is coming from?

Possible! New exhaust fitted at same time..

Rattle appears to be coming from the N/S..
