Hi all long time no posts!
Sold my Bongo on Ebay today and all was well until i demonstarted the roof.
Havent used it in ages - It went up fine then when i went to put it down it only lowered on one side.
I have used the manual lowering kit to get it back to the house but it looks like one of the motors has gone as the cable appears to have come out of its socket.
Anyone know a garage in the Bristol area that can do a roof repair? Or any advice would be really helpfull
Otherwise anyone wanna make me an offer for a fully working N reg bongo with an iffy roof?
Cheers

Ryback...try the microswitch for the roof being down on the side that faled.....if that is telling the motor that the roof is down it won't want to try and close it.........there are pictures in the archives somewhere but I am too busy to search at the moment.....hope this helps....Alan

Hi thanks for the reply but it is not the micro switch. As you look at the bongo from the front the left hand side motor operates fine - the right hand motor operates fine up to about half way then stops going down on the right - There is a cable which runs inside the roof on the right hand side which is loose - it is like a steel wire cable - maybe it operates the roof sliding struts im not sure - It looks like it should be attached at both ends but is only attached at one end and i cant tell where it should go with having another bongo to compare it to.

Hi Ryback....very difficult to help over the forum......have you tried toget the roof up again..?....the only wire I can see in mine that is not part of the wiring loom is the earth wire.....it is connected to a screw at the back of the roof hinge.....there is one on either side....don't know where the other end is attached without starting to dismantle the roof

....this earth wire is maybe your problem if the motor won't work at all.....best I can do at the moment.....Alan

Thanks for all your replies
The cable i refer to is not an electric cable but a steel cable like you would find in say a lift shaft for example only much smaller
It hasnt snapped its just loose at one end

Hi again Ryback....have just been investigating my roof......could find no sign of a steel cable...BUT....here is the bad news....I think..?.....that the cable you are talking about is the one that goes through those tubes which go into the motor....I think that this is the cable that moves the trolley thingy..( technical term..

.) backward and forward to raise and lower the roof....to me it would appear that this has snapped or come astray somewhere......you need some professional advice as I probably don't know what I am talking about but sounds reasonable if a tad expensive to put right....
