AFT Microswitches

Here's a query from one of our Postal members (Stuart from Worcestershire).

I had a problem with the roof, and the problem was diagnosed as relating to the microswitches. These were replaced, but it still has not solved the problem. So the question is, what is it (mechanically, not electrically) that actually activates the microswitch?

Do we know the symptoms? Does it not stop beeping when closed or open? There is a white nylon/plastic plunger arrangement which pushes the switch when it gets to the appropriate point in the travel as shown below. If the switches have been replaced AND manually pressing the switches produces no change to the symptoms then it could be a problem with the wiring or control module,

He was on a crackly mobile so I couldn't get the full details. But he did say it was mechanical, not electrical, and that by manually operating the switch everything was OK again. So it could well be the plunger mechanism thingy that's broken.
