Over active soft close

I've had a search on the forum, but found no answer, so here's a new post :)

When we bought our Bongo, the soft close didn't work on the sliding door, so I cleaned up the contacts and it then 'worked' every time. The problem now is that it continues to try and close, releasing and pulling in the door for a while afterwards. It will also randomly try to close the door now and then.

Is there a switch that tells the door that it's shut and it can take a rest!? The switch on the end of the door seems OK as it turns the light on inside and I haven't noticed the light trying to come on (though I've only really driven in the day light).

Any ideas?

I think the purpose of the spring loaded contacts is purely to supply power to the motor during the last part of the travel. There are no switches behind the spring contacts, just wiring. As far I can tell, there is a micro switch in the latch at the rear of the door which tells the control unit that it has reached its closed position.

It can been seen as 72-310Z on the drawing.

Best bet is to check, clean & re-seat all the connectors inside the door, especially those going to the control module.

I've got a similar issue that has only developed in the last 6 weeks. When my door closes it has developed a what can only be described as a 'hissing' noise for about 2-3 seconds after the door has closed. I have lubricated the runners on all points of the door but it appears to be a motor issue. My concern is that it will cause long term damage to the motor.
