Moving On

After 4 and a half years of happy Bongo ownership we have sold our Bongo as we are getting something slightly bigger (Not a VW). We've met some great people, had some great meets and had great technical support from the forum.

We'll keep an eye on the forum as once we're up and running with the new van we'll be up for local meets. We'll probably keep out membership for another year and pop along to the Scottish bash as it's in our neck of the woods and i'm looking forward to Dave showing me some of the local bike trails.

That's no reason for leaving us or not coming on future meets! Unless you don't want to, of course.

Out of interest, what did you go for to replace Bongy?

Agree, it would be nice to know what new wheels you've got, and of course you will be welcome on here and at any Meets you fancy, whatever you drive. :D

Worth the membership just to join in the leg pulling and general fun, plus the crew here can help with pretty much any vehicle. :D

We'll be along to meets when we can. It's a Ford Custom Kombi with a full side conversion and elevating roof (manual) so you could think of it as a modern day Freda

It won't happen. Look at me, nearly two years on since I waved goodbye to my Bongo and I am still here. The same applies to JDS (Dave & Janet) in Shropshire and Umbongocat in London. You will miss the crowd.

You can take the man out of the Bongo but you can't take the Bongo out of a Bongonaught.

Can you fit it under 2.1m forestry car park barriers though

Good luck with the new van I'm sure you'll have just as much fun in it as a Bongo :)

Why don't you try arranging a local meet to show it off, there's not been much happening in Scottish section lately.
Something to do with a referendum maybe

At 2.075m high we should just be able to sneak under them

It was after meeting you two at Scolty that sealed my fate as a Bongonaut/Bongolier/Bongofanatic (delete as appropriate)

I used to see you driving past occasionally and recognised the wheels, is the van still local?

Thanks for showing me yours  and good luck

I remember that day at Scolty. If I remember right our Bongo was ram packed as we had been away camping that weekend

Our Bongo was bought by a couple in Aberdeenshire so you may see it from time to time on the road or campsites.

Looking forward to picking up the new van late October as having the ability to cook inside as well as a diesel heater should mean that we get even more days away than we did before. Hopefully next year we can get some meets at the Red Squirrel or elsewhere that allows camp fires.
