I am fitting an immobiliser and the instructions are asking to break into a permanent ignition live. Can anyone tell me the correct colour on the dash fuse box to use please.

Also can you tell me what the round toggle switch with a red light is for to the right hand side of the steering column please as it does not appear to do anything.

Looking forward to Cornwall :D

Many Thanks
Hobo

I don't all the details about it, but search 'winter pack' regarding the switch. It could be to do with a box in the exhaust system .. or rear fog light.

Might need to clarify what type of feed you are looking for as 'permanent ignition live' is a bit confusing. It will either need to be permanent live or ignition switched :)

The other switch sounds like rear fog light. Switch sidelights on & flip the switch: it should illuminate & fog light will come on.

Thanks for the feed back guys. A techie guy at Cobra said that I need to break into a ignition feed that is also live whilst cranking and breaks when ignition is switched off. I connected to the feed checking with a volt meter showed live on cranking but apparently after a second call to Cobra it was the wrong feed as the immobiliser would not arm.

Many Thanks

If you want a feed which goes on with the ignition and does not drop out while cranking, you can use the Black/White wire at the diagnostics socket in the passenger footwell.

For a permanent live feed you can use the Brow/White feed to the flasher relay by the accelerator pedal - this is fed via Fuse 11

Great, thanks so much for all the responses. All now working and sanity restored (well, partially anyway!) Replaced a fuse and the side door lock came to life as well (bonus!). Apologies for naivety, but am new to Bongo ownership so steep learning curve!!

Thanks again.

I just worked out yesterday that this switch is the rear foglight :D I also have a similar switch on the other side and a touch lower,it is in the on position but no light but if I "switch" it when engine running there is what i assume is a warning bleeping, any ideas?

Self destruct countdown timer? :). Might need to follow the wires & see where they go.
