mysterious roof leak!

Hi

I've had water dripping around and into the interior back roof light only when AFT is raised otherwise it's fine. I have noticed that there are some screws coming up from what looks like the interior back light through the tin roof just behind where AFT is attached to van. There's also a small hole which looks like it previously had a screw through it. I'm guessing maybe this was done during conversion or if interior light was replaced. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Any other possibilities for water dripping here when roof is raised? What would be the best sealant to cover the hole and screws?

Thanks
Sam

Can't quite envisage this do you have any photo's ? Is it an original AFT, not an added pop-up on a tin top ?
The only place I can think of that has a hole is where the electrical cable for the AFT motors exits the roof but this should be thru a sealing rubber grommet on the offside.

Or maybe under the seal for the high stop lights either side under the spoiler maybe ?

Thanks, i'll have a look at the stop lights. The wires in your photo are better wrapped than mine and fully cover the grommet so i'll add some more tape.
Can you recommend a sealant that I can put over the suspect screws and tiny hole? I can't get my phone under the AFT to take a photo i'm afraid.

Thanks for your help
Sam

Ah mine have some extra wires, infact even more since that photo was taken so mine already has an extra layer of tape, best to use self-amalgamating tape which forms a continuous rubber seal if needed for that sort of situation.
As to filling holes I would guess some silicone sealant might be workable but it won't be easy to paint.

I suggest automotive windscreen sealer would give a better result than big standard silicone sealer (as used in bathrooms). It's designed to be used in contact with metal and paint.
