scavenger fan sensor

Post by froggygirl » Mon Aug 18, 2014 1:52 pm

Hi all,
hope someone can help! Bongo scavenger fan warning light was flashing and according to the garage its an ambiant air temperature sensor that needs replacing but they say they cannot source the part. Any ideas of a compatible one? or where I can get one from?

They are called Air Intake Temp Sensors and are stocked in the club shop, see http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/mercha ... tm#Coolant

According to the owners handbook (page 92) it's a "Grade Option".

Glow plug light flashes (as I recall) if you disconnect the engine bay temp sensor. If you disconnect the sensor, the fan will come on so that proves fan itself is ok.

This shows how to test the sensor:
