reich tap problem

Hi
We had to replace our Reich single microswitch tap. Managed to buy an exact replica in a shop.
Wired it all up thinking this is going splendidly, however the white platic tube that connects the water hose to the actual tap bottom that goes into the pipe doesn't sit in with a tight fit, even though we have tried to tighten up using a jubilee clip. So when you turn on the tap, the bottom connector comes loose from the hose and you get a shower you weren't planning on taking.
Pretty sure we didn't have any bits missing.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem or how to get round it?
Don't know how to post a picture on here, but have taken one i can send if anyone needs to see what i'm on about.
Thanks
