Hi could anybody offer me advice on how to remove the front and back window wiper arms so I can de rust and respray them. I don't particularly want to do it with them in place.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum :). The process is simple: lift up and remove the plastic cover, undo the nut and remove the wiper arm. In practice, the arm can be jammed or corroded on to the spindle so it's worth having a suitable extractor in the toolkit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BERGEN-TOOLS- ... 35da607d69

Remove plastic cover
Remove Nut.
Swing arm out to 90° from vehicle
Grip the fitting, pulling gently, wiggle the arm up & down (Not around the rotation)
The taper fixing will come free.

I find it easier to remove & refit arms with them swung out to 90°, as the spring-loaded hinge stays in that position instead of trying to snap further round as it does if you leave the arm resting on the glass.

Do as all sugested but leave the nut on half way. get a pair of mole grips and put one jaw on the nut and the other jaw
on the arm. then crimp moles grips closed and the arm should release. dont hit the arm as you could crack the screen
