What's the sensor on the chassis rail for

Sorry, I'm sure this must have been answered before but I can't find it...
What is the sensor on the chassis rail under the passenger seat for? On a 1995 2.5 TD.
It looks like it has 2 wires. I thought the engine bay temp sensor was up by the handbrake so I guess it's not that?

Got a picture? I seem to recall there a large resistor in a heatsink on that side.

Can't quite work out how to post a picture but you're right about it being a big resistor on a heatsink - I think it's B2-20 on page 34 of the wiring manual - a dropper resistor for the ATF
