Bongo Fury

I'm having to replace the rear heater supply pipe 61-2D1 in the diagram.

I've looked and it goes all the way to the front. Looks a bit of a pain. Anyone replaced this and got any tips before I wade in?

Is that the long metal one with the t piece at the end
I've read there a pain to get out and a bugger to get the new ones back in
Mines weeping on that t at the mo
Gonna have a good look this weekend
But if it's the t I will jus cut that bit off and replace with a 15mm copper plumbing fitting with pipe soldered in
Then a it of hose a clips to join it to the existing remains of the pipe

Then comes the bleeding of system

the forums upgrading at the moment so its quite hard to search for the link i was going to link you to, but if you search ,metal pipes by author muzorewa a good thread will pop up that describes the cost of a new pipe and how to fit it .

Thanks for that, had a look, Might just go with the cutting the offending portion off and use the new bit with some hose and clips.

Looks a right pain to get the whole pipe out never mind back in again.

Well it turns out I shouldn't have been worried. Pipe arrived this afternoon. Old one off new one on. Took about an hour 30 to replace. Not that bad a job. Took a bit of jiggery poker but was easy enough. Just have to bleed it in the morning and all will be well.

Bit expensive for a pipe. It didn't occur to me to just cut the end off and use some plumbing gear and some hose. Having said that the other end of the pipe wasn't looking to clever so might have been the better if not more expensive option to change it.

And as it turns out it wasn't difficult to replace. Jacked the front right up as high as i could. 3 bolts hold in place, I unbolted the heater ducting to get access to one bolt and that was it. Jiggled it out. Don't know if was just lucky but i managed it. If you have one thats leaking its deco a DIY job.

Club shop has some but even with a members discount its 80 quid i think!!
