Bongo Fury

Hi,

I've just bought a bongo and have now ordered a TM4 Low coolant alarm from Haydn. I have downloaded the approved garages list but can't see one on there that I can easily use. ie there is one in Haverhill but it says no against Electrics - the rest are a lot further to travel too. Bishops Stortford is easy for me and there is a garage there and it say 'some' knowledge of electrics sooooo my question is where should I take my bongo to get this alarm fitted?? Does it have to be an approved garage or is this a job that any decent garage can undertake?

any competent mechanic should be able if they can crimp a wire

It isn't a complicated job at all and as full instructions are given there is no problem for a DIYer to do it, let alone a garage with half a brain

I'm only 10 miles from Cambridge and installed my own. I don't mind if you wanted to come over, look at my install and/or give it a go together. Don't know what your time scales are though, as I'm pretty booked up at the moment

Vicky once you have seen it done you will wonder why you didn't just do it its really easy.
I do believe there is a video but not sure how to find it
Another forum has some instructions, its the same method but has two sensors.

Read it all twice then give it a go

Bear in mind if its the TM4 combo alarm, you need to decide where you fit the temperature sensor (usually on the head).

Help....what's happened to the forum....all gone into a blue different format ....don't like it.....

Sounds like you've switched to the mobile view. There is an option (somewhere) to revert to normal.

That's a really kind offer. Given that it is not something I need to find a bongo expert for I think I will be able to enlist the help of my next door neighbour - he used to be a motor bike engineer and have his own shop - so I think he is more than qualified! He's retired now but he helps us out on sooooo many things and while I feel bad asking him I think he enjoys helping us with this sort of thing.

If he can't help us then I may come back to you to take you up on your offer. Whereabouts do you live??? We live in the city centre.
