Bongo Fury

I have been given an undertray, 2 parts (yes they are attached to each other) to go on my Bongo what size and how many bolts - I've had a look underneath and at the tray - my guess is 8mm (13mm head)? flange head (or a big washer) and 10 of them?

M6 by about 40mm on mine as there are some rubber spacers that sit between the cover and the chassis. If yours does have these, you can probably get away with being about 25mm long. The socket size will be 10mm.

Mazda use "metric fine" threads...standard metric won't suit!

Mmm - you may have a point there. I've got a tub of Mazda bolts so just dip into that when I misplace one for the undertray so never tried a 'standard' M6 bolt.

I have containers of general metric nuts 'n bolts and find they are generic in use ..

The undertrays are a 'common' m6 thread with a 1.00mm pitch that uses a 10mm spanner / socket ..

I have had no end of trouble in the past when in the UK, getting standard metric bolts to fit, so I took one to an engineers in the locality, who measured and pronounced "metric fine", so that's what I always ask for...however, I expect there are some that aren't....When in doubt, I buy a handful of each...

I tinker with 'modern' motor bikes and scoots ..

I find that 'meric fine' tend to be more 'higher tensile' nuts 'n bolts used for 'stressed' engine components .. big ends .. mains .. CVT transmission / clutches etc:..
