Hi Everyone,

Went away for a few days last weeks. On the first night stayed in the main car park in Westward Ho! £5 for motorhome overnight parking and 24h public toilets opposite - we enjoyed a lovely, quiet, uneventful night, jusy us and a big Dutch motorhome making use of North Devons new 'Aire' style stopovers.

Next couple of nights we stayed on a C&CC site called Lenchways in Evesham - £10 a night with electric hook up (I think £6 without). The owners were brilliant. Very friendly (they even loaned us a hook up extension lead so that we could move further away from our only neighbours in the field). The site has water, 2 hook ups and chemical waste disposal ;point but no other facilities so ytou have to be pretty self-sufficient. We had a lovely time and I'd recommend it if you're a C&CC member.

Is that the car park beyond the static parks, where the ghostly house is?

That's why there were motorhomes in the car park at Appledore! Cool!

Hi
Well, that's stupendous, as you say, Bob...Organised, and easily policed rather than errant campers dotting the streets...PLUS a few extra quid in the council's kitty!
Cheers
Helen

As far as I know Blackpool was also piloting an 'aires' scheme in Lytham St. Annes if anyone further north wants to check it out.
