Insurance... what are you paying??

Post by xt600 » Thu May 29, 2014 6:07 pm

I've now had my new V5 returned to me and my conversion is now official :-) Best insurance quote I've had for my 'motor caravan' so far is £179 (fully comp)
Does anyone here get a better deal ??

Went for the £180 quote, opted out of legal cover but all seems ok with £100 XS which isn't too bad :-) (didn't tell them I had a new carpet Simon, they may've put the price up :-))

I always go for legal cover these days
Insurance company's love a fight
And everything takes so long with them
Good to have someone to fight them for you

If you are current or ex-Civil Service (or BT, Post office and many others) you can join the CSMA for not much money which provides Legal Cover for all vehicles you own. As I have 3, this represents a decent saving over the 3 x £25 I would have had to pay.

CSMA membership has numerous other benefits included as well, including discounted insurance with Liverpool Victoria, and cheaper breakdown cover.

I am so being ripped off £380.00 full comp admiral, no claims for years 15+. I did try the camping and caravan club but could not get through to them on the phone. Next year I must improve on that massively. :? You know how it is when you first get a vehicle, had to get it in a rush.

Look at your V5 as the C&CC will only insure Motor Caravans ..

I pay just over £200 with protected no claims / legal expenses etc: with them with a WS3 postcode ..
JAL Mushroom roof,12/240v, fridge, cooker, sink, LPG V6 .. (written off @ £5500 Nov 2016)

Mines an 8 seater MPV on logbook but meets the spec for camper as it has an added sink stove etc, the 8 seats was the issue for many insurers, Adrian Flux did it for £200 fully comp two drivers 3000 miles I think
