Coolant change - it's been a while!

With the van in my garage for various work, I decided I should change the coolant - particularly since when I replaced the head gasket 18 months or so ago, I put the old coolant straight back in again! #-o

I opened the bleed hose and expansion tank cap, drained from the radiator, drained the bottom hose down under the 'stat, fitted it all back up and filled. About 8 litres.

I forgot to disconnect by the rear heater - I know it'd be absolutely fine but will be draining it again tomorrow... properly, as a penance for being a numpty! ;)

Best to give the system a Wee flush out while you are at it.

Won't wee corrode the system

Seriously though, I've never bothered draining the rear heater and 7+ years later no problems. I work on the dilution principle.

Lol!

I still only got about 8 litres into it with a cold bleed. Will start the engine one I've got an exhaust fitted.
