Hi, I put up my awning for the first time today but could not attach the figure of eight to the guttering.
Is it normal to have a plastic covering over the guttering already or has this been added by the previous owner?
Thanking you in advance
paul.

We do not have a plastic covering on our N reg bongo, but not sure about later models, you may have to remove it to attach your awning

Thanks for the reply guys, I can't move the covering on the guttering so Im thinking of taking a stanley knife to the figure of eight so it will slot over the cover instead.Has anyone else had to open it out a little bit?
Thanks again
Paul

mine was stiff the first time i took mine off, i think i pulled it off from the end and peeled it off.
but just remember when you take it off, i put it under my van as to avoid standing on it, but i drove over it and sqaushed it one time when i unhooked and went out for the day.
still goes on ok but its got a silver line now where the plastic trim cracked.
ps. and as for the figure of eight being cut, i wouldnt if i was you, coz the figure of eight is a tight fit on the gutter as it is, let alone putting it on the gutter trim thats on the gutter.

Dear waycar8,
I just went back out to give it another try and it peeled off just like you said. Its funny how sometimes you need to step away from a problem and when you go back its no problem at all.
Do you remove the guttering cover above the passenger door aswell or do you find no need?
Many thanks
Paul.

i have 2 figure of 8s so i leave it on, but i know some people use 3 and thats when you need to take off the passenger piece too.
