Bongo Fury

Hi, anyone know which fuse the air con pump is on please? The light on the switch works but the pump does not seem to be kicking in.

As Simon has said probably needs regassed or faulty clutch etc etc,you can check the sight glass for bubbles etc, it wont do any harm to check the fuse its No16 10amp cabin fuse box

take the plug off the aircon part 61.503.

short the plug end with a link wire, if it all kicks in, its the gas side thats at fault.
make sure the engine on and aircon fan is on at least the first speed.

Sorry, been in Hunstanton all weekend the land of no 3g or internet. Thanks for advice. Pardon my ignorance but where do I look for bubbles? Not too familiar with the layout of everything yet. The cap I need to remove and short, I guess that is accessed under the front bonnet rather than in the under seat engine bay?

look through the front grill, you will see it up at the top right hand side, near the passy side headlight. its the thing numbered in the link above and is bolted to the front of the radiator. remove the plug to it, and link the 2 wires in the plug not the unit.

Thanks, will give it a try. Air con was gassed less than a year ago so would not expect it to need it again so soon? Was working just fine before Christmas bit she has been standing for a month or 2 with very little use.

Just tried this and low and behold the pump kicks in when switch shorted. Air was not cold, but I guess if the gas has all gone it wouldn't be. Thanks for the tip
I am a little shocked has lost pressure in less than a year, are there any common failure points I can check for leaks?

The A/C rad is at the front so very prone to stone chip damage. Also, unless it used regularly the seals dry out and loose pressure.

The o rings on the connections to the condensors can sometimes leak. Whoever re gases the air con should stock them in all sizes. If the air con is not used for long periods the pag oil in the system does not circulate to keep the seals lubricated. Thats why most people reccommend using the air con all year round even in winter.
