Bongo Fury

I popped into my local Decathlon last night and saw this:

It had no price or any in store to buy yet as it's a new product but managed to find it on the french website. So I expect it will be £80-£100. (not on uk website yet)

I thought it looked quite versatile and I suppose you could sew the edging along one side so you could use a figure of eight to connect to your van. You would then have a a windbreak, standalone shelter, van canopy etc.

When I know more details I will post.

I like the look of that, but then again I like the look of most Quechua products! Why they stopped making the "Base" products is beyond me, the prices they now command second hand is pretty amazing!!

The Modulo Tarp from Decathlon looks like a great addition for versatile outdoor setups. If it's in the range of £80-£100, it could offer good value for a multi-purpose solution like you mentioned – windbreak, standalone shelter, or van canopy. Sewing the edging to connect it to your van sounds like a smart idea. I'm looking forward to hearing more details once it's available in the UK, especially if it comes with additional accessories for easy van connection.

My Bongo came with an awning, though after fighting with it for 30 mins on a windy day I packed it away and instead, within 5 mins had popped up my Quechua Base XL and attached it.
I’d bought two of the Quechua Base Seconds tents some time back and added the XL to link the tents and provide additional ‘living space’.
The fact it simply butts up to the Bongo is a welcome bonus, works a treat.
The tents and XL ‘awning’ are all ‘flat-pack’ too, so easy to stow/transport.
Effectively the XL can be used as a ‘drive-away’ awning, especially if adding one of the tents alongside (they themselves have two ‘double bedrooms’ and their own living space).
With the two tents I have, plus the XL, and the Bongo, I could have plenty of ‘living space’, and six double beds.!
I just need to get out and use the darn thing.!

I agree, the Modulo Tarp seems like a solid, versatile option for that price range. Adding edging for van connection is a clever touch—it could really expand its functionality. I’m also curious to see if it includes any accessories that make setting it up with a van even easier.

Thanks for your feedback! Yeah, I figured adding the edging could make it super practical for van setups. I’ll definitely keep you updated once I get more details, especially if Decathlon includes some handy accessories.

Have you used any similar tarps or awnings before? Would love to hear your experience!

If the price comes in around £80-£100 as expected, it could be a solid investment for outdoor adventures. Keep me posted on the details when you find out more! Also, if you're comfortable, you could ask Decathlon for more information about its potential availability and features in the UK as well.
