I Need a new leisure battery to fit standard mazda battery tray (winter pack model). I am currently using the standard mazda battery with willinton kit. Does anyone have experience of largest (amp) battery that will fit with no modification? :?

It's not the amps that matter it is the physical dimensions of the battery.

I have 2 leisure batteries that are exactly the same size - one is marked 60amp and the other is marked 110amp both fit in a Willinton battery tray

It also matters how the amperage is measured - 5/10/15/20/100 hour discharge.

It is also worth reading this.

When I get a chance I'll measure the size of my batteries and post the dimensions on here.

PS Ideally the leisure battery should have + to the left and - to the right as it makes for easier connections.

310mm long 190mm wide 220mm high is about the biggest you can easily get in a Willinton tray.
Much taller than 220mm and the bonnet may short the terminals out.

This is like my 110amp one.

As stated in the link the way a/hours are measured has now been standardised, so this may well be the same "real" capacity as my (probably optimistic) 110a/h one.

It also has screw and post connectors (like mine) so it is easy to add extra connections

My 85A/h leisure battery wouldn't fit in the winter pack tray - it was too high and the bonnet wouldn't close :(

I've taken out the second battery in dual starter (winter config) battery Bongos and always dropped Numax 110 & 113 AH batteries straight in (CXV31MF) with the existing tray.

That sounds the ticket. I'll get one of those. Thanks Dodgey =D>
