Bongo Fury

I think I am needing my tyres replaced, my speedo is reading 34mph when I'm actually doing 30mph, so I would like to slightly increase the rolling radius of my wheels to reduce the 4mph difference in my reading. I'm currently running 215/55 R18's and would like to fit 215/60 R18's any thoughts on me fitting the slightly larger tyre, also advice on tyre ratings and what's available on the market. My van is fully converted, has an 60ltr lpg tank, towbar fitted and towbar mounted full size spare, so the van is a bit on the heavy side. My existing tyres are 95H rated, lot's of tread left, however the side walls are showing very slight signs of cracking, so I think the van may be too heavy for them.

I can't even find any 215/60x18 tyres for sale - do they even make that size?
Why not just go for 225/55x18 - slightly bigger than the ones you've got. Your present tyres are already 5% larger than standard Bongo tyres, so you may have to play with moving your speedo needle.
96 is the minimum load index for rear tyres and 92 for the fronts, so your 95s are not beefy enough.

Can't find 60 profile on the 215's either, I thought I would have been able to source them no bother, seem's like they may not make that size. I thought the 95 load rating may be a bit light, I will try and source 225/55 R18 van tyres instead, if anyone has any recommendations for manufacturers free free to post. Thanks Francophile for taking the trouble to look up tyre sizes for me.

I am using 215 65 15's all round and have done for years, my speedo also runs faster than the vehicle is doing but I like it that way,lol, helps with speed limits.

225/45/18's are the closest to stock 215/65/15 as you can get.... Calculator here - but it's finding the right load rating for that size....but all is not lost as if you go up a size to 235/45/18 then you will get 98 load rated tyre.... and not much difference in the speedo from stock tyres..

17's seem to have a better choice of tyres for the larger sizes... (I can hear the owners with 16's lining up to shout me down now I have said that... )

Pirelli 215/55 R18 99v rated at Asda for £140 each fitted and balanced are going on the rear, Gordon the "laird" has sourced me some budget tyres 215/55 r18 98 rated, could not find 215/60profile tyres anywhere, I have a body kit and with further inspection I think 225/55 R18 would reduce my speedo discrepancy but I am worried they might foul the body kit when turning the front wheels so it looks like 215/55's are the max I can use and live with the inaccurate speedo.

They're a bugger to fit on an 18" wheel though

Having managed to get hold of a set of 15" alloys for my bongo the cheapest 215 65x15's I can find are just over £55 fitted. Could you let us know where you bought yours? Thanks.
