Airlift suspension - fitting advice please

Hello,
I've just bought some airlift suspension for the rear of our Bongo:-

I gather you have to fit them upside down which I guess means fitting the air spring so the air fills in from the bottom.
What I'm unclear about is if I have to fit the spacers upside down or not - any advice much appreciated.
Below are the instructions for fitting (the right way up)

And here's a photo of the bits in question:-

All advice appreciated.
