Headlamps lack of

HI I have just found my headlamps are not working, fuses checked , checked the bulbs and the connectors, striped and tested the relay
(rear most behind the nearside battery)
sprayed WD 40 around the rotating stalk switch,
and looked for loose wires etc.
my next job is to remove the rotating stalk switch as if i pull the stalk towards me the lights will flash, leading me to suspect the switch.
can I remove the switch without taking the steering wheel off? and is there any danger of the airbag operating. #-o
or is it better to fit and rewire to another switch.
just off to get some switch cleaner spray. and think about drilling a small hole in the rotating plastic bit to get some cleaner in it.

Any info from sparkys out there in Bongo Bong land as this is the first time I have failed to sort my own van, :? :?

Before striping it all down, I would disconnect the plug from the switch and test the switch with a multimeter and also connect together the appropriate two wires to verify if the lights come on. You'll need the wiring diagram for reference.

To change the switch assembly you would need to remove the wheel. Disconnect the battery first and leave it for a while before disturbing the airbag.

Thanks Simon, will do in the morning, if it ever gets light. [-o<
