Hi

I'm looking to buy a Fiamma F45S for my tintop. I noticed this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251078696031? ... 1423.l2649 and wondered if anyone could give me any advice please?

Good price?
Good reputation?
etc
Any other ideas?

I've just missed out on free fitting at the NEC by Johnscross Motorhomes (I did ring them in the hope ...) :(

It depends on the brackets used as the one shown is on an AFT which may (if he's doing it how I would) fit up under the freetop. This is what I've got, but if he's using the VW brackets which just clamp to the gutter, then it should be ok.

Thanks Simon, I'll bear that in mind. I have told people that it's a tintop, not an AFT.

Very nice, we'll be over to shelter from the sun next year.

Just picked up a Stimson Explorer Kit from Worcester. Like Baz has! Want to go and play now. Allan's looking for some gull wing seats, with fixings, in his dead bongos and hopefully (fingers crossed) will help me get them fitted in place of the bench seat.

Could I still use figure of eight fittings to my driveaway awning, as well as having the Fiamma ?

Must admit, I've always fancied a Fiamma, but £550 ????!!%^$£@@@! Jeez, is it just me, or has the world gone crazy?

Yes, the gutter is still accessible, although if you have brackets like mine that attach to the gutter, you may need to shorten the figure of 8 strips slightly.

Sorry, I don't quite get this? My awning 'zips' into the figure of eights (3 x pieces) along the entire length of the guttering. There is a separate pair of eights contained on either side of a strip of cloth which bridges between awning and gutter, makes for much easier removal. ..

I couldn't do that if there are other obstructions clamped to the gutter. Is there any other way of fitting the Fiamma other than with gutter clamps?

When the fig of 8 strips are clipped in place, they stick out further than the brackets so the bead will easily pass round the brackets. Even if you just rest the strips onto the top of the gutter, there will be enough give to go round the brackets with the fixing kit. I've used a Khyam Motordome and several other drive away awnings in this way with no issues.
