Just got new glass for reversing mirror. Is it right to replace it you have to heat the casing up to expand. If so I assume you have to take mirror off bongo. Hair dryer or blow torch for heating ?

Certainly wouldn't use a blow torch unless you are planning on redesigning it completely . It's going to be much easier to work on the mirror when it's off the van, but you will need a snug fitting screwdriver as the 4 mounting screws can be tricky to shift. A hair dryer on a low heat setting will probably be ok and it may help to smear some washing up liquid around the rim to make it easier to slide into place.

Thanks Simon removed mirror and fitted today with no problems. Used hair dryer and washing up liquid mirror popped in quite easily.

Excellent news. Few people tackle that job, so it's good to know it can be done successfully.
