My 95 Freda has started sounding like the starter motor isn't engaging properly in the flywheel - I've replaced the battery but still the problem persists. Only happens when the engine is cold (hence me thinking it was the battery being a bit tired - it's 7 years since I bought the vehicle and the battery was the original....)
Could the motor shaft just need lubricating or is it time to think about a replacement...?

Re: Starter motor graunching
Do a search for replacing the contacts - a cheap fix
