Double Din 'sleeve'

Post by GreenBongo » Tue Aug 27, 2013 10:36 pm

I have a MEOS double DIN unit to fit into my Bongo but, having cut out the centre strip, I have found that the unit doesn't fit very well with a gap at the top. In a very old post I have seen a reference to a 'fitting sleeve' but my Google skills are letting me down. Can anyone point me in the correct direction to find one of these? thanks.

I haven't used one myself but I'm sure they are called 'double-din cages'. See this search on google:

I've got a cage, I was looking for something that would convert the double DIN plus a little bit to a proper double DIN.

Hi, just going through this fitting process, and whilst the cage size is always the same, there are two different fitting sizes, 108mm or 118mm height. Do a search on ebay. The two sizes are referred to as double din and 2 din, ( and they are different). also look up double din fascia plates, as there are differnt sizes in these too.

I found what I was looking for by searching eBay for Double DIN 118mm, the 118mm was the information that I was missing. The new fascia had its clips in the wrong place but I was able to get round that by snapping them off and then gluing it around the old fascia, when fitted you'd never know and I have no gaps now :-)
