Bongo Fury

Hope somebody can offer some help here....going on hols soon and the blinds have started to play up. The issue is to do with the driver's side cab switch or wiring....instead of operating both o/s blinds as normal, it's just started to operate only the rear o/s blind. Each individual o/s switch operates its respective window normally, so there isn't a window blind motor fault. Unfortunately the front o/s switch is now hidden behind the side conversion and I don't want to lie flat on my back and use a stick to operate it each morning and evening!!! I've tried swapping the cab switches over and that makes no difference, so it looks like a wiring fault. Has anyone had this happen to them; if so, where was the fault for you?

There's a circuit diagram on here somewhere courtesy of g8dhe and I seem to recall the front switch just acts in parallel to the rear one. If the rear is disconnected, then the fronbone also stops working, so the fault could be in the rear circuit.

Short term, you can still operate the blind manually to save scrabbling around inside the conversion. You also want to consider relocating the switch to the front of the conversion so you can operate it from the rear of the van.

Its often a dirty contact on the front set of switches, trying operating it several times or give it a spray of cleaner.

Thanks to both of you for your replies.....it might well have been a dirty contact. Having taken out the hob and sink and reaching into the cupboard to remove the switch (not easy at my time of life!) I found that it started working again as normal. I will be looking to relocate the switch after the holiday, Simon, but there's precious little wiring to work with once the plug has been removed from the switch...I might have to use connector block to extend the wiring to my preferred location.
