Brake fluid capacity

Changing pads and discs this weekend and will be replacing the brake fluid as its well overdue the 2 year schedule. Any idea how much fluid is required to be able to flush the whole lot out? I'm thinking 2 litres will more that cover it, but usually when I do these jobs, I end up with lots of half empty bottles left over which usually go to waste.

I would think a litre would be enough to change the fluid, but it depends on how much Flushing you are going to do.

Good Luck.

Thanks. Just been into the garage to get the bits and it turns out I'd already bought 2 litres of brake fluid last time Euro Car Parts were doing one if there silly sales, so as least I know I've got plenty :).

Stripped the rear calipers down, cleaned, painted them, fitted the discs and went to fit the rear pads and found out the muppets at Euro Car Parts had supplied me with front pads for a Fiat Stilo . I've re-ordered them and checked the part number and ones they sent were one digit different. I suspect I'll have a battle returning them tomorrow as you generally can't return any brake components that have been opened. Still, not my fault, so hopefully they will replace them.

They will probably not ask for the parts to be returned (quarantine regs) and send you the correct parts for your vehicle, they sometimes have problems in this department.

Euro Car Parts swapped the pads over with no problem, so fitting them will be a job for tomorrow evening. Then there's the front calipers to refurb, drain the ATF, fix the split charge and give the van a wash polish before the Looe trip.
