working out original kitchen wiring

Hi everyone,
I've been looking around the internet for a while but can't find anything on this specific thing.
I was wondering if anyone here has experience putting an original kitchen in a non-camper bongo and trying to keep as much of the original kitchen wiring as possible?
One of my main issues is that I'm at a lost to see where the kitchen would connect to the van? (I know my van won't have the wiring) My plan was to run two cables straight to the battery. My ownly idea so far is that the connection could be within the cut wires in the loom which thought were for the fan and lighting?
Any help could kick me in the right direction.
Thanks
