which one is best and i can fins the figure of 8 but any ideas where the pole and clamp set are if they are better option?

i've got an Navigator combi also, have used both pole and clamp and figure of 8, both have their pro's and con's

Pole and clamp; clamps can be a bit of a pain to get over the pole and under ths canvas, and can be difficult to get tightened sufficently, i have put shrink tubing over the clamps to stop the paint scratches, due to the bottom clamp only clamping with the tip of the lower clamp the clamp tends to "roll" if you have a gusty day, due to the universal fitting canopy.

Figure of 8; have to thread onto canopy first them clip onto van gutter, depending on where you get your figure of 8 as som fits tighter than others, once on can be an ar** to get off, some members have left them on permenantly, and used a fig of 8 to fig of 8 strip of material which caravaners use to attach some awnings. my worry is the wear on the paint on the edge of the gutters with repeated removals.

Due to the universal fit of the canopy, there is a fair bit of excess material on the top section so is quite noisy in the wind and has pulled both types of fitting off, one way i have tried to reduce the noise and risk is to throw a long guyline over the width of the canopy and pull it tight to tension it,

one of the problems i have found with the combi is water pooling on the canopy, as there is no center bracing, still working on a solution to this.

i got my pole and clamps off Ebay, but i think most caravan and camping superstore will stock them.

I use a full length fig of eight (1piece)£8or9 from caravan shop.put cling film on gutter and this protects the paintwork no marks job done

Cling film? I'll give that a go, might help with looser fitting fig of 8, one piece length, might stop that annoying trip onto the bed when opening the door. any specific store?

Perthshire caravans is where I got mine its one length a few dealers said you only get small bits ,nonsense ive now got a few members up this way using this size .wnen travelling I slide it under the seats I did take a small bit off to suit my stand alone ,big benefit is no water drips in through the three fig 8does tho

i have just the figure 8 poles do i need a flappy bit of material to as shown in the image? excuse the lack of correct terminology

My fig eight goes straight onto my movelight without using the (flappy bit) suppose if you can't go straight onto your awning you will need three bits of this,look at your awning and see if its got the webbing to slide the fig 8 along
