Bongo Fury

Hi - Does anyone know of a nice campsite within easy access of a train to Paris? We'll probably be following the west coast of France back up toward Cherbourg, but have the time to head inland closer to Paris if we can find a stress free way of getting in to the City at a reasonable cost.

It's a very big and busy place (430+ pitches). They operate a queuing system to check in and have different reception desks dependant on which nationality you are. The good thing is that there is a bus that runs from the campsite and will drop you off in the city centre.

I made the mistake of driving down around the Arc de Triomphe which has a six lane system from which you can never escape! Very scary.

It is very easy to get round Paris (BUT only if you know how to)!!!

Luckily I do, but trust me, you'd rather get someone else to do it or take the train in. If you can camp near a train station with RER going into Paris, then all the better.

Thanks for the response. As it turned out, we ran out of time, so we'll find our way to Paris another time. On our travels we came across an ex-Bongo owner who had travelled in to Paris by train from a campsite in Versailles, so we'll probably go for that.

You could always camp in Kent and catch the Eurostar to Paris.
