Hi all
I have done a search ref checking the oil level in the auto box
I know you have to move the gear stick back and forwards a few times then leave in drive
But do you have the engine running or not
Thanks

Re: ATF question
Engine running mate, I use the old ford trick going from park to low and back 3 times before pulling the dipstick.

With a warm engine .. move the gear lever backwards / forwards a few times / hand brake hard on .. with the engine still running .. check the fluid with the lever in 'P'ark ..Gasy wrote:Hi all

Re: ATF question
Some have a dipstick with Cold/Warm levels on so engine doesn't have to run for so long to get it up to temperature.
I guess when it says warm it is referring to the gearbox oil anyway, not the engine so it saves driving around wasting fuel.
