What did you mean by that ? Therre might be something in that as since it stopped working it did work once when I had the door open to pay for petrol. What do you suggest I do ? Thanks
PS
its not the fuse
Called 123 away who converted it and they were helpful butsaid likely to be the drivers door switch which has gone.

It's quite common for the wires to break between door and body.

Outcome to this was that they ended up getting stuck in the up position and I had to ge the AA out. They managed to get them back up then snipped the wire and said it have been bodged and needed all of the wiring looms replacing completely so there was no joint in the wire.
Is this correct and any idea of the best way of going about getting this done ?
Thanks

I never new the AA would come out for a stuck window .. !!
My passengers window as recently 'stuck up' I have wiggled the wires and sprayed some switch cleaner in the switch .. both with no joy ..
So it looks like a meter and the soldering gun job to suss out the lack of continuity and (hopefully) fix ..
The harness is a common problem and easily sourced ..

i find when the driver window gets stuck either opening and closing the door (obviousely not while driving) or putting the passenger window up and down a couple of times seems to work.Although i did once have a very unpleasant drive with it stuck open -in winter rain -got back stuck polythene over the gap went back too it next day and it was working again -There have also been occasions when the window has opened or shut entirely of its own accord mid drive -its one of the many things i love about my bongo -those little eccentricities bit like its owner.

I know it wa s abit of a last throw of the dice at 9PM.
I had my 2 kids in the car and a 3-4 hour drive ahead of me and its obviously really blowy and cold. The AA seemed to come out because it would have resulted in the car not being secure I think.
Only had to wait for 15 minutes for the engineer to arrive to big up to them

Thanks for the link to the harness.
Can anyone give me a rough estimate of manhours required to install this to make sure any garages dont try to take my eyes out...
