Bongo Fury

I bought a set of rails from eBay, both front and rear. They came with no instructions and as it turns out from searching on here, they are actually from ikea and an absolute rip off! Never mind.

After much mucking about I think I got them fitted but not sure if I have the rear one in the right place. Should it be screwed into the rear door, or the plastic trim above the door? i went for the latter. There used to be a fact sheet but doesn't seem to be in the members area anymore.

Could anyone post some photos of how they are supposed to look, or point me in the direction of other threads please?

I bought that kit as well, it was badly wrapped and arrived bent and scratched. The fitting instructions can be found on 'another forum', I don't recall the search words I used but I found it through Google. Those instructions state that the rear rail is screwed into the metalwork above the window, despite the sales pitch it will almost certainly need drilling.

I stuck curtain rails with thin heavy duty double sided tape from Halfords. Been OK for the past year and saved drilling

I did wonder about drilling into the metal work, but was told it just screws into the plastic trim with self taping screws, which is what I did and seems to have worked. Advert, photos and information were all pretty poor and just a bit annoyed at what a con it was, considering I have an ikea down the road and thats where it's from!

My problem is that I need to try and straighten the rail for the front as its bent down in the middle. Its only £5 from Ikea but they want £35 delivery. If I can't straighten it then it'll have to wait until I'm near an IKEA, I have a rail across behind the seats its not too bad but the rail around the front would, effectively, bring the fold down seat into the rear compartment.

Have you tried contacting the seller to advise him that the rail was damaged in transit? Any decent seller would rectify this if advised within 7 days.

I did, he wanted me to return them at my cost. It would have cost me £10 to send back £5 worth of rail with no guarantee that any replacements would be better packed, the rails were badly scratched because the brackets had sharp edges and were packed up against the rails.
