Fuses general and rear aircon

Firstly the large orangy pink fuses ( rather than the small blade fuses) are these readily available? There are two in the under dash compartment and more in the underbonnet fuse boxes. Also how do you tell if they are blown other than by using a meter to check continuity?
The rear aircon does not work, the light on the dash switch does not come on when it shoul and nothing else happens. Is this a fuse problem (if so where is the fuse) or is it something more major?

Many thanks
Peter

The fuses should have a clear top so the metal strip will be clearly blackened & broken if it has fused. As to where to get them - they seem standard on Mazdas of that age - I just got a handful last time I went to the scrapyard.

Only suggestion on the rear aircon is to check the controls in the rear are also set to on, so try setting fan to max - the orange lights should come on. Also check the fuses.

Hi
I know the aircon only works if the front fan is turned on! but mine also has a switch to the right of the ignition with a fan symbol and rear wrote on it.

Interesting - my rear aircon can be on with the front off & I don't have the switch you refer to.

By the way, whilst looking for goodies at the scrap yard, I noticed some Mitsubishi models use the same block fuses as found in the under bonnet fuse box.

How many variations are there? I have the switch to the right of the ignition, but I have never tried turning the rear switch on without the front fan on. Must try it tomorrow, as I am curious now!
