Paint for grey auto free top roof

Hi I would like to repaint part of my grey auto free top roof it's 1995 Black / Silver Bongo with a grey roof.
Anyone know the paint code? Thanks Mark

The colour is part of the gel coat rather than conventional paint. Best bet is to take it into a decent bodyshop who will have a device which will scan the surface and be able to mix up the colour to match. Even if you were able to buy the original paint, it would not match the colour of the roof which had been exposed the the elements for 15+ years.

thanks for that- was just about to ask Ian at the club the same question!! as the vertical faces only normally visible (on the road) & roof is relatively unmarked I may mask off the "sides" area of the existing decals- as I am going to strip off and replace the AFT decals which are "weather worn" at the edges :idea:- I could perhaps use a "marine" paint as I remember some years ago repairing an overcab in GRP/fibreglass in my earlier 1980( W at the back!!) bedford coachbuilt and went to the local boatyard chandlers.

Cabte sells cover decals for the full length of the AFT that are designed to cover over scratches

I've got a few scratches in my grey AFT too. When I get around to painting it i'm going to do it in silver to match the rest of the Bongo. The grey looks to me as if it has been left in primer!

I agree++. It should should look good in silent silver whilst still keep the same broad visual appeal of the standard grey roof.

When I got my Bongo the AFT looked rather dull & grey - like primer/undercoat. But I cleaned it off with clay & then waxed it - now it is shiny & smooth to the touch. It was an extremely satisfying thing to do as it literally went from being matt to shiny in one easy step!
