Needed to replace my shot wishbone ball joints so couldn't resist a new, very useful toy!

According the the gauge, it takes 1.5 tonnes to press out and back in the joint!

did you have any problems fitting them, as the angle they are mounted in the wishbone makes it a little awkward to just force them in.
rusted wishbones could maybe crush or separate.

I put my lump hammer under the very edge of the wishbone, with the main body resting directly on the press. This made the joint completely level.

I'd rather have one collapse on the press than on the road. :)

hehe :-)

The wishbone was very sturdy. I'm doing the other side this week when the joint arrives and I'll take a pic of it in position on the press. The wishbone was never at any risk. 1.5 tonnes is not that much - I could have driven it home with a lump hammer if I'd wanted to.

The press was only £139 from a ToolZone shop - which I thought was great for a proper press with a gauge, not just an upside down bottle jack.

I did mine in a vice with 2 huge sockets I borrowed from a mechanic mate.
