Mmm, what does this do?

So the nut in the middle of the picture looks like it should have had a connector on it or something. I only noticed this when I was changing the air filter. Vans running fine but what's it for?

think its the vac advance diaphram nut, nothing is connected to it.

Ok thanks, looks like it's got some sort of insulation on it as well, but if it ain't broke etc etc.

The white stuff is to lock the thread in place after it was adjusted at the factory.
