Bongo Fury

hello to all reading well after years waiting to get my bongo, i finaly got there .
managed to purches one two months ago .
and have enjoy reading many post in which has helped me no end to get to know the in's and out, of my bongo.

But i have now got a little problem that i hope one of you may be able to help with

after driving along ,and then coming to a stop , the idle seems to drop and somtimes cause the engine to stall
which i find strange in a diesal which is automatic if i put in in nutral it goes back up or after a split second it goes up again ,it is ideling around 900
anyboady any ideas?????????

has it been serviced ie all filters inc banjo

remove filler cap and wash it out as breather might be blocked and causing as vacum

you could try all or some of the following.
or use the search tab at the top of the page type in banjo and filter and read on. the and is important between each search word.

check the banjo filter, its a little thimble filter in the inlet pipe at the entry to the fuel pump.

try taking the fuel supply pipe off and blowing back to the tank to clean the tank pick up filter out.

at the 6 oclock position in the fuel tank filler there is a little hole, this is a breather for the filler kneck, get a thin flexy pipe and thread it down to clear it out,or blow down a pipe to clear it.

next to the gearbox oil filer/dipstick on the drivers side, clipped to the inside face of the chassis rail is a mushroom black fuel tank filter, this has a small bore pipe that is a tank breather, simply pull it away from the chassis, it clips in place,then remove from pipe and clean out and replace.

if non of the above helps you may have a fuel pump leak on one of the seals, check its not wet underneath, if it is it maybe the pump advance piston seals.

check that the throttle cable is properly set up, again use the search tab to get answers. a pointer that this is wrong is how does it start from cold.
