Rick Wakeman Booked for Bash!

Post by Ian » Thu Apr 25, 2013 10:19 am

Yes, it's true! He lives nearby, and as part of our charity fund rasing Rick Wakeman has agreed to play a set at the Bash. It will be on Saturday afternoon at the Vicar's Garden Party.

It doesn't get any better than this...... 8)

I've seen him live (solo) recently, he's a great guy with some really good patter. Some of it might not suit the Vicar's Tea-Party theme though

He must have moved house then :? - I used to sell him a train ticket each week from Diss, in Norfolk, to London. It'll be nice to meet him again 8)

He was living in Norfolk in 2011: http://mikeatkinson.wordpress.com/2011/ ... k-wakeman/

"I’m calling you at your office, which is near your home in Norfolk. What sort of place have you got?

We’re in a village, just on the Norfolk-Suffolk border. My missus and I – and this is what happens to old rockers – we love gardens. When we bought the house, it was just grass and gravel. So in the past six years, we’ve put in roughly four thousand plants. We reckon we’ve got about another two years to go, and then it’s tinkering time. It’s a lot of fun, to watch something happen. My missus is much better at it than me."

Of course, he may have more than one house :)
