Torn rooftent - repair, replace?

I am looking for advice about what to do about a tear in my Bongo's rooftent. Is it possible to repair a rooftent with a similar fabric so it looks better or, if not, what is the best (and most economical) approach to replacing it?
Some time ago I tore the fabric of the rooftent when putting the roof down. Some of the material got caught in the closing roof and there is a tear in the shape of an inverted 'L' with the vertical tear being about 7 inches and the horizontal being about 10.
I have it taped up and mended with 'Storm Seal' but it is quite ugly and I would like to improve it.
All advice gratefully received.
Steve

There is a guy in Newcastle called the awning clinic, I think they have a website and he has repaired quite a few he told me. Very helpful if you give him a ring. You do need to get the tent off though.

Somewhere on this forum is a recent post linking an ebay seller who repairs bongo tents - I spoke to him on the phone and he was very helpful.
As said, you'll need to remove your roof, and pack it up - which is easy as long as you are happy to drill out a few rivets (to remove the alloy frame from the canvas).
To replace the entire netting I was looking at around £115 including re installing the netting zip. Something like £95 without the zip.
I used tenacious tape in the end.

Cobblers
Our local one has repaired all kinds of stuff for me.
Or a sail maker if you live near the coast, to be honest some one who makes curtains etc should be able to do it, the Ebay link looks good too.

Thanks for all these ideas. I should perhaps underline that it is the canvas rather than the netting which is torn, but I will explore the contacts with the recommended menders or even try and find a local one. I have used Tenacious tape before and found it very good - but this damage is too much for it I think.

What colour is the 'canvas' you are looking for? I know where there is green one on a scrap vehicle.

The people I linked will replace the canvas , whole, or in sections. Tape will probably be no use for the canvas.

Yes TT will repair the canvas as well as the mesh! However you may wish to consider putting it both sides to ensure that the inside edges don't get plucked and pulled as it folds or people move around up top!
