A question for Haydn and the electrical techies

After a very successful and easy Willinton fitting I have a couple of niggles I need to sort
If I use the option to have the electric blinds hooked up to l/b via the kit my Haydn alarm is now on permanently. I didn't fit this but need to shift the live feed to on with ignition only. Any ideas?
Also my factory corner sensors are now on permanently. Need to do the same with these and move to ignition only too.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
Trying to make life easier for you Jaylee so we can concentrate on important stuff like LEDs!

I had the same, I bought a little double fuseholder that you plug in in place of a single fuse in the "always on" row and it gives you a way for the existing fuse and a way for the alarm. I got it from Halfords but it wasn't on display, they got it from the Audio fitting bay. No wiring needed, plug and play.

Hi the most popular one is loosely called a "Fuse Tap",these can be obtained from Motor Factors (Halfords etc) and probably EBay.

Ingenious....but I prefer to run a new supply where possible, rather than overload an existing cable!....
It might be a quick fix for the Willinton problem with switching part of the alarm system onto the leisure battery...one alarm unit and split supplies sounds like disaster!..

Hi everyone.....I think I'm going to have the same problem with my coolant alarm......what would be the best fuse to use the "fuse tap" in and what fuse does the coolant alarm need.........cheers.....Paul

I fitted mine to the rear of the instrument panel (thick red wires going off to the left) as that is only powered when the ignition is on.

Hi Paul,use a fuse that is Ignition controlled,probably 6,7,13,15,18 but best to check with a meter etc owing to the fact that a lot of alterations have been done to these old bangers over the years.

You use the original fuse for the circuit the tap in replaces the fuse of a and the fuse for the coolant alarm quite low I would think, I guess I used the lowest one I had they use very little current. If you buy a tap in make sure you get the right size for the Bongo Fusebox. The fuse for the new circuit will be nearest to the tail, check with a continuity test or trial and error if not sure.

Hi,I am very sorry but I dont have a clue what you are talking about,and these coolant alarms by design should have very little draw.
