Have you checked the heater resistor pack? Is the fan motor turning freely (remove air scoop to get at it). I'd start there, and report back.

If the drain hole is blocked, water running off the windscreen will drain away on to the resistor pack and maybe burn it out. You will have to remove it, check it, and replace if appropriate.

is this the resistor with the blue wires going into it?
there was no cover on my bongo so water must have over flown and go into it
can i repair it and then cover it over with something?

Hi
Just a stab in the dark, but have you tried turning the fan...They sometimes seize up if the unit gets water in, and there's plenty of info on stripping it out in the fact sheets in the members area, where it gives you good pictorial info on de-seizing the bushes.
Without having the resistor pack you show actually in my hands, it does look possible??? to repair the bakelite base where it's cracked with a bit of epoxy, or "plastex"
Cheers
Helen

Hi
Ooops..Geoff had already mentioned the bushes.
You seem to have everything checked...so...apply 12 volts across the motor when you dig it out ...if it spins, it's the resistor....Very rarely, it's the dash switch...but it can happen....
I had the same problem with my rear fan...absolutely everything checked out...the fan spun perfectly (the rear doesn't get corroded). For some strange reason, the motor just stopped working...it didn't spin when a voltage was applied!
Good luck!
Cheers
Helen

Have you got digital or manual controls? Resistor pack for manual controls is often repairable by resoldering the connections. If you've got digital controls, it uses transistor pack which is a completely different part & I've only heard of one person sucessfully replacing the components.

its manual controls and i couldnt see anything wrong with resistor pack when i had it out? couldnt see any solders loose

also now the rear blowers have packed up!
they were working last night but now not after i took out the resistor? and the rear fan button near the steering column dont light up now when on??
