Bongo Fury

I've just bought an electric cool box for use with the Bongo. Basically the fridge wasn't large enough to put all the dog food I need to take with me when I go away on training trips (don't ask - that's just how I like to feed my dog).

So the plan is to leave the cool-box at the campsite inside my storage tent whilst I am away from the campsite with the Bongo and the dogs etc.

I have bought one which can use 240v - but my question is re. the adapters.

I already have one long hookup cable & so I just want an adapter socket to plug the coolbox into so I can leave the box on hook-up whilst I am away from camp.

If not - where can I get something man enough for the job that doesn't come with the hookup cable attached?

I use the Coleman mains to 12v adaptor and leave it in the awning never had any trouble inc heat xtreme in France Belgium and Scotland that's a joke,

Get a cool box with a catch on the lid in case there are any inquisitive dogs (or bears) roaming the campsite. The tent won't be much of an obstacle!

Forgive me if Iv'e got the wrong end of the stick, but where is your RCD/ distribution box. In the van?
you will need a separate one for the tent, even one with a short lead and use the current extension

Electrics, water, the great outdoors and dogs that nibble through cables are a recipe for disaster (or fried dog/owner) .

Thanks all - right RCD it is - not much point in taking the dog to training and then frying it!! (thanks also for the tip about a box w/ a catch - hadn't thought of that).

So, in an idea world I am looking for a double socket w/ RCD - but just a short section of cable - any ideas anyone, I can't find one.

Could use one of these in your existing cable.

Put it near the plug end then it guards against any problems in the cable itself as well.

Yes I could - thanks. But what I am really looking for is the whole thing combined (minus the great long cable)

Buy a used one on fleabag and modify the lead at the plg end(sorted)

I can't see any short multiway sockets, so you may have to get one and shorten the lead as required.
