Hi all - I had the offer of a Kampa porch awning (http://www.glossopawnings.com/products/ ... b-260.html) but its for a rail height 235 upwards so when I attached it to the van the feet kicked out and the sides splayed away from the van. Any body got any ideas how I can make it fit or is this a no go?

Cheers

Hi,

Looking at the awning it doesn't appear to be a drive away, Are you going to be using the bongo whilst camping? There are businesses about that will do awning alterations offering hieght reductions. You should be able to find one via a tinternet search. However you have to take the cost into acount.

Cheers

Don't think it's practical to modify something which is so different. Would be better to put the money towards something that you know is going to fit properly.

Also Friend,

If that was not attached to a vehicle (or even if it was) it looks like that sort of awning that anyone celebrating a birthday and blowing out the candles could blow down. I live in the North West btw.

Thanks for the advice. We already have a driveaway for longer camps but this is to just hook up to the side for shade / shelter when we stop overnight. I usually just use a tarp attached to the hooks under the AFT with Clingons but last summer the lady of the house found it too drafty so looking for a more enclosed solution. I think we will go for a Movelite midi or similar.
