Anywhere is good for us, timing is more of an issue. But we do have two missions planned this year for your side of the border

Somewhere around Stirling / Bannockburn would be perfect for us for the weekend of 26th May or 2nd June, we can reverse our tour as necessary. Or anywhere in Fife. Or near Linlithgow, or Melrose/Selkirk/Galashiels.

Don't make plans around us though, I've never made the Red Squirrel yet although there's a good reason for that :?

By the way, I've just shown Muzette the pics from last weekend, she's really impressed you managed to pull that one off

Aye, you've not had much luck when it comes to Red Squirrel meets. :(

I'd be tempted not to try to venture too far south - you had a fair few peeps from the Grampians at Queensferry so Borders is a trek for them. From Aberdeen to Queensferry isn't much nearer than we are

South Queensferry is a 260 mile round trip for us hence why we stayed down on the Saturday night and made a weekend of it.

And the red Squirrel is a 320 mile round trip

Depends whether people want a day meet or somewhere to stay for the weekend (or longer). There was a cracking meeting organised in 2011 in the Cairngorms, thread here: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 24&t=49714

For a day meet the likes of Stirling or similar are a good prospect. Cairngorms is reasonably handy for a lot of people and there's plenty to do for those staying, and plenty to occupy kids. And adults :D

Aren't there also some other good sites near there, at Rothiemurchus so we don't go to the same place

Any more than 2-3 hrs driving we tend just to stay overnight, willing to travel anywhere within reason, fine with a 1 day meet or an
over-nighter.

Depending on what people want to do, Dunkeld or Blair Athol might be an option.

We would be up for either a day meet or an overnight. Fridays are difficult but a Saturday overnighter is fine. Quite new to all this so happy to go with the flow!
