Bongo Fury

Hi All
I'm trying to find a diesel distribution pump thingy (the mechanical bit that sits on the engine) but I'm struggling with the good old 'oh no mate, you'll need to import parts for that'
Were there any other UK/EU vehicles that used the 2.5l TD WL model engine that I can ask for instead?
I know Mazda Bongo, Ford Freda and Ford Ranger, but as far as I know those were all never officially sold in the UK.
Any clever ideas? Maybe a commercial van or something?

HI i think that the mazda b2500 twin cab shares the same engine

I think it's a bit risky ordering an expensive part like a diesel injection pump based upon engine type. Quite often the same engines are used in other vehicles but with different ancilliaries. The only certain way of getting a match is to quote the part number.

It's worth a call to BellHill Garage - they dismantle Bongos & have most parts available. Ask for Keith or Tom - very helpful folk

I called up BellHill and spoke to a very helpful and knowledgable guy who had one in stock and posted it out to us within 2 days. For reference, it cost ?275 plus VAT, which seems like quite a lot until you see the thing and realise just how blooming complicated a part it is

Now I've just got to fit the thing
Going to do the cambelt at the same time, so I presume it's just a question of following the instructions for changing the cambelt, taking a load of photos of the existing unit and the pipes and wires it has going into it. Taking the old one off and swapping any parts to the new one on a bench, plopping the new one on and refitting the cambelt and such.
Sounds dead easy wish us luck, lol
